…can be scary, but also a great learning experience.

is he going to hit me today?

*Photos by my sister today.
My mom had the Music Boy and Little Curious on a chair in front of the kitchen sink. My kid, the little singer, turned two in June and his little cousin is 8½ months old. The big one has not been very kind to him, taking his things and suddenly turning soft palms into dangerous claws, so the little one is very carefull around “big” boys now. This time though, they had a great time and no one got hurt.

I am taking lessons from the big kids at the moment. A bit scared but learning so many new things that I hope to share in the not too distant future.

playing around

My youngest sister got her new camera today so I was happy to help her try it out. A bit like this:

Don’t worry, he was under close supervision, no accidents.

But now I want a wide angle lens really, really bad.

Midnight, SOOC. My computer is too small for manipulating anything raw.

wellies and all

Sorry, I just have to brag: I made these! Well, co-produced anyway. No, not selling on etsy or anywhere else, just showing off.

I have been switching between blogging in English and Faroese for a while, and I still haven’t decided which way to go, but throughout July and August I will go with English. At the moment our real life is spent with my top five readers, so while we are in this tiny place I will try to stay in the big world through the blog and write in English.

I first started blogging to share some of our everyday life in Denmark with the grandparents back home on the Faroe Islands, but I find that I want to share some of my life with the people who inspire me in the blogosphere and share  their gfts so generously. I also love looking back even though I only started in January this year and I wonder how many of the stories I would have forgotten if I hadn’t blogged them.

As much as I enjoy blogging, I still feel very vulnerable doing it. I worry about spelling and mixing up American and British English and of course the “who does she think she is” keeps coming back from time to time.  To answer that I think I am being just a tiny bit brave and I think I am becoming better at this for every time I press publish.

So thanks for reading and I love your comments and questions.

Midnight walk

June 19, 2009

I only had to set the clock on my phone one hour back, but we still seem to be experiencing jetlag. The days are long, very long. I had forgotten what June looks like here, days 19-20 hours long and twilight nights. I picked up the images yesterday on a midnight walk on the harbour of Runavík. Mom&dad live almost in the middle of this, and seeing the ships pass right outside the kitchen window is just surreal.
